What have been the key factors to success in your career?

Focusing on best practices includes the constant questioning of currently accepted models, methodologies and established processes. It also includes taking care of the actual possibilities in a given institutional context.

What interesting projects are you working on right now?

I am currently conducting research into the Central and Eastern European Banking Systems, and the challenges of context dependent risk management.

Why did you decide to pursue the PRM designation?

If you are in the business of examining others, it’s a good idea to test yourself. Furthermore, every professional certificate or designation is a challenge for yourself and a signal to prospective employers – and in my case a reassurance for my students.

How does the PRM benefit those who prepare for and pass it?

The PRM attests that you have attained a certain level at a certain point in time. It signals that you have attained a sound foundation in Risk Management.

What would you say to others who are considering the PRM for their company or are considering pursuit of the PRM on their own?

The integrating financial world calls for global designations, showing that individuals have mastered a certain body of knowledge. That has to include a sound amount of ethical standards. The PRM signals this in the field of Risk Management. However, it should ideally also imply a stringent continuing education program to underline the commitment to the changing best practices in the industry.
