About This webinar

This webinar will examine the challenge for financial firms brought by the impact of climate change. How can we manage risk amidst so much uncertainty about the pace, scope, and scale of man-made climate change?  In this session, we will examine how physical risks (those posed by the physical effects of climate change, e.g., floods, droughts, and heat stress) and transition risks (those associated with new government policies or the commercial uptake of new technologies) are shaping the future of risk in financial markets.  This webinar will be structured as a series of highlights from a 20-hour massive open online course (MOOC) that will be released by Imperial College in October 2018 and made freely available to PRIMA members.  The webinar will touch upon the four principle components of the course, including:
• What are climate risks?
• Approaches to managing physical risks
• Approaches to managing transition risks
• Creating new investment opportunities
