The success of any process and system is reliant on the perceptions, actions and practices of employees, thus a “cultural mindset” should be pre-defined this includes outlining and inculcating the rules of engagement. Larger organisations tend to face challenges in discerning cultural changes perpetuated by the development of sub-cultures within various business divisions. A greater need to exhibit how risk culture can be effectively controlled and measured across more complex organisations is presented.

This requires a clear understanding of risk culture, its benefits, how maturity can be determined and demonstrated as well as possible causes of failure in this very critical aspect of risk management.
