Eamonn Hughes, Chief Sustainability & Investor Relations Officer

Eamonn is a Chartered Accountant and holder of both a BComm and a Masters in Banking and finance from UCD. He has held the role of Irish Banks & Insurance Sector Analyst since 1996 in ABN AMRO and Goodbody, including a period as head of the European Banks Team in ABN AMRO. Eamonn’s responsibility is to guide and implement Bank of Ireland’s sustainability strategy, while also playing a critical role in managing its capital markets reputation through leadership of BOI’s investor relations activity. His sustainability role requires him to integrate sustainability into BOI’s wider strategy, governance and business model. His investor relations role allows him to engage directly with stakeholders on BOI’s sustainability plans. In his prior role as a sell-side analyst in Goodbody, he wrote extensively on ESG-related issues and attained the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.
