Traditional banking has witnessed many disruptive innovations over the recent past, the most prominent of them being the digitalization of banking. Banks of all sizes all around the globe are shifting rapidly towards digitalization to maintain a competitive edge and deliver the best to its customers.
Digitalization enables the two-prong benefits:
(i) better customer experience facilitating:customers with 24/7 access to bank, better rates and lower fees, automated payments etc.
(ii) an efficient and effective operating model for the bank.
However, as it is said, with great risk comes great reward. Likewise, great rewards come with great risks. The convenience of digital banking also comes with security risks. Foremost risk digitalization has exposed banks to cyber-attacks that result in data breaches or unauthorized transactions. People with malicious intentions can exploit the remotely introduced loopholes, through hacking, malware and ransomware attacks, spoofing, credential harvesting, identity theft, fraud, etc. Digitalization is evolving and exposes banks to possible technical issues that can leave customers stranded, especially when they need to access their money urgently. Further, fast and constant access to money is a benefit for customers, but that may lead to spending the money on things they haven’t budgeted for.
This webinar aims to bring together top leaders from a diverse field of financial world, banking and ivy league academia to share experience and perspectives on Banking in the Era of Digitalization - challenges, opportunities and best practices.
