Tsveta Petrova, Practice Head, Eg Labs, Eurasia
Tsveta Petrova leads EG Labs, which is Eurasia Group’s innovation lab. Eurasia Group is the world's largest political risk consultancy. Founded in 1998 by Ian Bremmer, it has offices in New York City, Washington, D.C., London, Tokyo, São Paulo, San Francisco, and Singapore with more than 150 full-time employees. The Eurasia Group was the first firm devoted exclusively to helping investors and business decision-makers understand the impact of politics on the risks and opportunities in foreign markets.
Tsveta, who earned a bachelor's degree and a doctorate in political science from Cornell University, has held post-doctoral positions at Harvard University and Columbia University. She is the author of "From Solidarity to Geopolitics" (Cambridge University Press, 2014). Tsveta is also a frequent commentator on Central and Eastern Europe for the NYTimes, FT, the Economist, and Bloomberg among others. She has experience with qualitative, quantitative, and big data as well as experimental research methods.
Vivek Tyagi, CRO - Institutional & Retail Banking, Insurance, BAML
Vivek Tyagi is former Managing Director, Head of Risk Management for Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Transaction Banking group. He previously served as Chief Risk Officer and division risk executive at JP Morgan, Genworth Insurance and Citigroup.
Dan Rodriguez, Senior Risk Officer, Point 72 Asset Management
Dr. Dan Rodriguez has served as a Senior Risk Officer for Point 72 Asset Management for the past three years, with primary risk management responsibilities for the Consumer, Retail and Financial discretionary portfolios, as well as, the Global Macro Team. Prior to joining Point 72 in 2014, Dan was a Managing Director with Credit-Suisse who served as the Chief Risk Officer for the Global Prop Group of the Investment Bank and managed the market risk and credit risk hedging portfolios on behalf of the Global Equity Division. He has over fourteen years of risk management experience including previous positions with Morgan Stanley as an Executive Director, reporting to the CRO of the firm, with responsibility for market risk methodology for the Institutional Securities Group. He began his career in financial services monitoring the risk of the Commodities Division at Morgan Stanley.
Charlie Peng, SVP, Head of Market Risk Management, Bank of China USA
Charlie Peng is currently SVP and Head of the Market Risk Management Department at Bank of China USA, responsible for the bank’s market and liquidity risk management functions. Previously, Charlie was a director at American Express and VP at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, spending over 10 years in both companies in risk and finance area.
He is the chairman of Asian Financial Society and CFA charter holder. He graduated with MS Computer Science from both the State University of New York at Binghamton and MS Economics from Fudan University.
Gideon Magnus, Economist, State Street
Gideon Magnus is a senior economist and scenario analyst for State Street Global Exchange’s Investment Analytics team. He has written several academic papers on yield curve dynamics, business cycle drivers and asset return distributions. Prior to joining State Street in 2016, Gideon was a senior quantitative analyst at Morningstar. He holds a Master’s degree in econometrics from the University of Amsterdam and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago.
Harvey Stein, Head, Quantitative Risk Analytics, Bloomberg LP
Dr. Harvey J. Stein is Head of the Quantitative Risk Analytics Group at Bloomberg, responsible for all quantitative aspects of Bloomberg's risk analysis products. Dr. Stein is well known in the industry, having published and lectured on mortgage backed security valuation, CVA calculations, interest rate and FX modeling, credit exposure calculations, financial regulation, and other subjects. Dr. Stein is also on the board of directors of the IAQF, an adjunct professor at Columbia University, a board member of the Rutgers University Mathematical Finance program and of the NYU Enterprise Learning program, and organizer of the IAQF/Thalesians financial seminar series. He received his BA in mathematics from WPI in 1982 and his PhD in mathematics from UC Berkeley in 1991.
