This year has been an unprecedented challenge – a global trial by fire for business and community.  Risk and Governance professionals have been – and continue to be - central to an effective business response.

They have managed to equip businesses with the right tools and support mechanisms to meet the exigencies of Covid-19 head-on – protecting economic wellbeing as well as the health and security of staff and customers. Never has the effectiveness of the risk function been more tested - its ability to anticipate issues, respond to rapidly changing situations and implement agile, transparent solutions. All from home!

We will explore how prepared organisations were at the start of the pandemic, what processes were implemented, what lessons learnt, and ask what the challenges are going forward focusing particularly around the long-term impacts on control and assurance frameworks.
