She has deep expertise in financial markets and back-office systems and is highly skilled in developing and implementing robust risk management policies. In her recent roles at ING and Aegon,
Sonia successfully led the design and execution of risk frameworks, ensuring compliance with key supervisory guidelines, including ECB directives, the TRIM Guide, and SR 11-7. This blend of technical knowledge and leadership makes her a seasoned professional in the banking sector.
Sonia has a master's degree in Physics (Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi), a diploma in Software Management (National University of Singapore), an International Business Management diploma from Brussels Business School, FORE School of Management, New Delhi, and an Advanced Leadership and Management diploma from Erasmus University, Rotterdam. She is also a certified Sustainability and Climate Risk Professional endorsed by GARP.
