The Professional Risk Management International Association (PRMIA) New York Chapter and MSCI are proud to present an engaging online panel discussion on diversity in risk. The panelists will examine the current state of diversity and inclusion in the risk profession, with a specific focus on diversity in the senior ranks of the industry, and they will discuss the importance and challenges of creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace during the current state of global events.

  Kellie Bichenbach, SVP, Chief Operational Risk Officer, Fannie Mae Enterprise Risk Management

Kellie leads Fannie Mae’s Enterprise Operational Risk (EOR), the second-line risk management function for non-financial risk and reports to the Chief Risk Officer.

Kellie has held senior risk management roles in the financial services sector including: Chief Risk Officer, Finastra, a U.S. banking regulatory designated significant service provider. She established the Global Risk Management function to meet banking regulatory requirements.  Previous to Finastra, Kellie was Chief Risk Officer for US Bancorp’s Technology and Operations Services division where she was responsible for developing and implementing modern operational and compliance risk management capabilities commensurate with regulatory expectations.  Prior to this, she was with Bank of America in progressive leadership roles in business, operations, and risk management.  Kellie also worked early in her career as a management consultant for Arthur D. Little before transitioning to the financial services industry.

  June Kim, Director of Global Equity, California State Teachers' Retirement System

June Kim is the director of global equity for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System. She is responsible for the fund’s global equity asset class, which had a market value of $112.3 billion as of April 30, 2019. Her team manages more than 60% of the equity assets internally in index strategies. Her team also oversees investments with external active managers and other programs, including a developing manager program. June is a member of the fund’s Risk Allocation Committee, which makes tactical asset allocation decisions for the total fund. Prior to joining CalSTRS, June was the head of public equities for the Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association. Her other investment experience includes management of equity index portfolios and active quantitative strategies at Barclays Global Investors and Northern Trust Global Investments. She also worked on the sell-side at Citibank as a vice president and started her investment career as an analyst at Wilshire Asset Management. June currently serves as a member of the advisory board for Girls Who Invest, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to increasing the number of women in leadership in the asset management industry. She is also a member of the FTSE Russell Index Policy Advisory Board and represents CalSTRS on the MSCI Client Advisory group. June received her BA in business economics from the University of California at Los Angeles. June is a Fellow of the 2019 class of the Aspen Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

     Jorge Mina, Head of Analytics and Chair Diversity Council, MSCI, Event Moderator

Jorge Mina, as Head of Analytics, is responsible for MSCI’s equity
and multi-asset class risk and portfolio management
products. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Jorge is also Chair of MSCI’s Executive Diversity Council.
Prior to his current role, Jorge served as Head of Analytics for the
Americas since 2015. He joined MSCI in 2010, following MSCI’s
acquisition of RiskMetrics and served as a managing director of
Risk Management Analytics from 2010 to 2015. Prior to joining
MSCI, Jorge was a founding member at RiskMetrics Group where
he served in a variety of roles, including co-head of the RiskMetrics
Business and Head of Research.
Jorge holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Actuarial Sciences from
the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and a Master’s in
Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago.
