PRMIA Afghanistan Chapter Event on ALM

PRMIA Afghanistan Chapter successfully conducted the first chapter event on Assets Liability Management under the patronage of Afghanistan Banks Association (ABA). Top officials of Banks, MFIs, Corporates, Government Institutions including CEOs and Risk professionals as well as Second Deputy Governor of DAB (Central Bank of Afghanistan), H.E Mr. Qasim Rahimi actively participated in the event. 

The event  was officially opened  with welcoming remarks of Mr. Najibullah Amiri, ABA-Executive Director and Regional Director of PRMIA Afghanistan  and proceeded with the presentation of Mr. Lutfullhaq Noor Paserly-AIBF, Executive Director and Regional Director of PRMIA Afghanistan. They offered a detailed discussion over PRMIA, its Offerings and core services, they also added that AIBF is the first legal authorized body which offers  APRM/PRM  coaching classes in Afghanistan. They were followed by the  speech of  H.E Mr. Qasim Rahimi, in his speech highly appreciated the efforts of AIBF for introducing the PRIMIA Local Chapter for the first time in Afghanistan. In addition to this, H.E talked about the importance of this program where H.E said that such type of programs are very essential for the Risk Management professionals. Furthermore, a presentation was delivered by Mr. Abdul Basit on Assets Liability Management .



The main objective of this event was to increase local awareness about PRMIA and promote PRMIA network and offerings in addition to the followings:
• Promote risk management practices
• Enhance the capacity of financial sector officials in risk management through PRMIA certifications
• Develop risk culture through risk awareness campaigns
• Support local members in networking for knowledge sharing, risk awareness, risk cultures, etc.

Conclusion 
Senior level professionals who attended the event were pleased to know that AIBF has been awarded PRMIA’s local chapter in Afghanistan. 
AIBF Executive Director pledged to increase financial sector capacity though PRMIA’s certifications. 
“This is a very fundamental step taken by AIBF to open PRMIA’s chapter in Afghanistan. Financial sector officials are no longer required to visit other countries to get PRMIA certifications”
