PRMIA Adds Online Proctored Examinations to its Services

PRMIA today announces an extension to its partnership with Pearson VUE in offering online proctored examination options for its Professional Risk Manager (PRM™) Designation and certificate program candidates.

PRMIA has offered computer-based examinations since the PRM Designation exam program was launched in 2002. PRMIA implemented a remote-proctored option in April 2020 in response to the impact that COVID-19 test center closures had on candidates’ ability to schedule and take their examinations.

Since implementing remote-proctored options, PRMIA has worked with its current test administrator, Pearson VUE, to bring the online proctored options to candidates directly through their current exam scheduling accounts. Currently, PRM Designation candidates in the 2019 exam program can log in to their Pearson VUE/PRMIA account and choose to sit for their exam in a local test center or via an online proctored environment using OnVUE. Beginning later this month, the online proctored options will be included for the remaining PRMIA exam programs.

“With the closures our candidates experienced due to the pandemic this year, it was important to us that we provide the extended options that online proctored examinations offer,” said Mary Rehm, Director of Learning and Development at PRMIA. "In the prior year, PRMIA hosted examinees in 94 countries and with over 5,000 test centers around the globe plus the online proctored option, we are able to serve the global PRMIA membership in providing access to examination services.”

Eric D’Astolfo, Vice President, Business Development at Pearson VUE added, “We are thrilled to continue collaborating with PRMIA on further improving the convenience in the delivery of PRMIA’s PRM exams. PRMIA candidates will benefit from expanded test delivery options through Pearson VUE’s OnVUE online proctoring platform.”

"PRMIA is delighted to be working with Pearson VUE to offer this valuable service to our Risk Management community," said Ken Radigan, CEO at PRMIA, and a current PRM Designation holder. "Now more than ever the risk community will be relied upon to find the risk management solutions to the economic and public safety challenges that are facing our society.  We need to ensure that our Risk Professionals are provided with the credential that is required to assume these responsibilities."

The Professional Risk Manager (PRM) Designation is a globally recognized, graduate-level risk management credential for financial risk managers.
