PRMIA Appoints Justin C McCarthy as Next CEO

October 1, 2021 -- The Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) has appointed Justin C McCarthy as its next CEO, effective January 1, 2022.

PRMIA’s Global Board of Directors chose Justin to provide inspirational leadership in driving its strategic plan, expanding the PRMIA network, and driving revenue generation and growth objectives. Justin has already been a long-time volunteer with PRMIA and chaired the Global Board of PRMIA from 2014 to 2018. Before that he helped establish and then lead the Ireland Chapter of PRMIA. Since leaving the Global Board, he has led the PRMIA Institute, a supporting organization of PRMIA.

Outside of PRMIA, Justin has served in senior Risk and Compliance roles in entities such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ulster Bank and with the Irish Financial Regulator at the Central Bank of Ireland. He has a BSc from University College Cork and an MBA from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business at University College Dublin and is about to complete his Corporate Director Certificate at Harvard Business School.

Related to this, we regret to announce that Ken Radigan will not be renewing his contract as CEO of PRMIA at the end of December. Since taking on the CEO role in 2018, he has been a valuable member of the PRMIA team. His leadership and contributions have been essential to our ongoing development.

PRMIA Board Chairman David Coleman said, "On behalf of the PRMIA community, I wish to convey our sincere gratitude for the leadership and unrelenting effort of Ken Radigan, who leaves us at the end of his term in December 2021, having navigated some of the most challenging market conditions PRMIA has faced. We now look to the next chapter in the PRMIA story and enthusiastically welcome Justin C McCarthy who brings diverse experience of strategic roles in risk management, a deep knowledge of the PRMIA roots and an infectious energy. We are very pleased to see that the leadership of our PRMIA remains in immensely capable hands and we look forward to an exciting, progressive and successful period ahead of us."
