2024 Professional Risk Manager Designation Transition

As part of our mission, we are updating the Professional Risk Manager (PRM®). If you are an existing candidate, then you can decide if you want to stay on your current path, or you have the option to apply to access the new edition of the PRM Handbook and have your exam authorizations updated to the new version.

What has Changed?

The Professional Risk Manager (PRM) Designation, recognized globally for its rigor and relevance in risk management, continues to evolve in response to the dynamic financial landscape. The PRM syllabus and the 2024 edition of the Professional Risk Managers' Handbook have undergone updates to address emerging trends and technologies impacting the industry.

Key enhancements include comprehensive material on cutting-edge topics such as machine learning, virtual assets, and operational resilience. These additions ensure that candidates are well-prepared to handle modern risk management challenges, equipping them with the knowledge to leverage new technologies and methodologies effectively.

Moreover, the latest exams incorporate updated case studies reflecting recent high-profile industry events. These include the failures at Silicon Valley Bank and FTX, and a case study on operational resilience at TSB.

Your Choices

While the latest version of the PRM represents the forefront of risk management education, the material from the previous version remains valid and relevant. Current candidates who have already started the exam process with the earlier syllabus may continue without disruption.

Alternatively, those wishing to benefit from the updated content can choose to switch to the 2024 version by paying a small administrative fee of $99.

After review and approval, you will be sent details on how to access the 2024 Edition of the PRM Handbook and details on the updating of your exam authorizations.

Those who stay with the existing PRM are reminded that they still need to complete all of their exams within the original program duration of 3 years.

This flexibility allows all candidates to tailor their learning experience to best meet their professional needs and stay at the cutting edge of the risk management field.
