Zeynep Stefan’s career in risk management started in 2006 while working for the Risk & Assurance Team of PricewaterhouseCoopers Istanbul, Turkey. Later, in 2009, she joined Generali Turkey to build up the Internal Control, Risk Management, and Compliance functions of the Company. Between 2012-2014, she undertook a similar position in Assicurazioni Generali’s Head Office in Italy, working as a Senior Risk Analyst, with a focus on risk analysis and Solvency II implementation process of Generali Group. The end of 2014 Zeynep took up a new challenge as Head of Risk Management and Internal Control in ERGO Turkey. She is certified by CRMA (Certification in Risk Management Assurance) and gave lectures at the Insurance Academy of Istanbul University.

Now, in Munich-Germany, she is studying post-PhD studies about the protection gap, financial deepening, climate change, ESG, DeFi, and DLT. She is mentoring InsurTech start-up companies in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Turkey in Aiza Consulting (www.aizaconsulting.com), InsurTechLeap (www.insurtechleap.com) and www.insurtech-turkey.com.

Zeynep writes monthly articles for the most popular Turkish insurance portal and Fortune Turkey. In her free time, she is a passionate charity runner and enjoys skiing as a qualified skier.
