PRMIA has invited experts from Financial Services Culture Board (FSCB, formerly the Banking Standards Board) to discuss the role of diversity and inclusion in organisational culture. The FSCB will discuss how a more diverse and inclusive team can prevent group thinking biases from a behavioural science perspective and present some of the findings on diversity and inclusion from their large scale 2020 culture Assessment survey that received more than 73,000 responses from employees across 29 banks and building societies. They will expand on some of the key findings such as respondents who identified as White British answered most questions more positively than those who identified as any other ethnicity; with the largest differences on questions relating to ethical behaviour and speaking up. 88% of employees said that they felt accepted and able to be themselves at work, increasing to 91% of employees identifying as White British and falling to 78% among those identifying as Black/Black British. The FSCB will also cover differences by gender and disability, including in Risk and Compliance function areas.

From our inception as the Banking Standards Board in 2015 to our relaunch in Spring 2021 as the FSCB, our core remit has always been to raise standards of organisational behaviour, competence and culture. More about the FSCB work can be found at https://financialservicescultureboard.org.uk/
