The field of artificial intelligence has evolved at an incredibly rapid rate in the past few years.   AI applications promise to revolutionize the way we live and work.   At the same time, the risk of AI systems producing catastrophically false output for users (the computer equivalent of hallucinations) remains a pervasive concern.  Even more extreme, some leading AI scientists assert there is a real risk of AI systems turning against their human masters, as foretold in many works of science fiction.

One may logically inquire how AI systems can be perfected when they are created by imperfect humans.   As expressed by Professor Amos Tversky, “My colleagues study artificial intelligence.  Me, I study natural stupidity”.   This suggests that governance and risk management of AI will be of critical importance in the years ahead. This seminar brings together three experts in the field of AI risk management and governance with particular emphasis on financial services.

Each of our speakers will make individual remarks and then take questions from the audience.
